AI4EOSC featured at the European AI Security network CrossTalk event

October 28, 2024

The AI4EOSC project showcased the innovative solutions it’s developing at the European AI Security Network (EASiNet) CrossTalk Event at the Delegation of the Emilia-Romagna Region to the EU in Brussels with the focus on AI and cybersecurity.

The event, held on October 22nd, featured also solutions developed by other nine EU-funded projects, which include TRUMPET, FLUTE, ENCRYPT, HARPOCRATES, PAROMA-MED, KATY, ONCOVALUE, EOSC-TITAN and EOSC-SIESTA.

These projects form a network of more than 50 partners across Europe as hospitals, ICT companies, legal agencies, research institutes, collaborating to address crucial challenges in Cloud Security, Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs), and Federated Learning for healthcare applications. The event also highlighted distinguished contributions from ENISA, and from the European Commission – DG SANTE, DG CONNECT – whose representatives provided insights into ongoing and future European policies.

The first track of the data was on Cloud Security for Data, presenting innovations in secure data storage and processing in cloud environments. The session was chaired by Judith Sáinz-Pardo, AI4EOSC project researcher. In this same track, Aida Palacio, system administrator of IFCA’s data processing center, gave a seminar on security and ISO standards within the AI4EOSC project.

The other tracks of the day included Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs) and Federated Learning Adoption and Certification in Healthcare. The challenges and opportunities of implementing Federated Learning in healthcare, including regulatory compliance and privacy-preserving data-sharing platforms were presented, which is a topic closely connected to the AI4EOSC activities for providing an advanced set of tools for AI.
