Join Us on May 9 to Discover Real-World AI Solutions Across Agriculture, Urban Analysis, and Earth Observation
- Date: May 9, 2025
- Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (CEST)
- Title: Real-World Applications Using the AI4EOSC Platform
Artificial Intelligence is increasingly being used to address complex real-world challenges across multiple sectors. The AI4EOSC platform provides the infrastructure and tools to support these efforts, enabling users to develop and deploy AI solutions efficiently.
This third and final session of the second AI4EOSC webinar series will showcase how different users—from research centers to public institutions—are leveraging the platform to tackle real-world problems in agrometeorology, plant protection, thermal image analysis, and high-resolution satellite imaging.
Webinar Structure
Duration and Speakers: This two-hour webinar includes an introductory session followed by four presentations from internal and external users of the AI4EOSC platform.
Topics Covered:
- Introducing the AI4EOSC Platform – Overview of platform functionalities and how users can benefit.
(Speaker: Judith Sainz-Pardo Diaz, CSIC-IFCA) - Thunderstorm Nowcast Based on Preprocessed Radar Data – Using radar data and AI to forecast thunderstorms.
(Speaker: Irina Malkin Ondík, MicroStep-MIS) - Integrated Plant Protection – AI-driven crop disease risk prediction models integrated into national advisory platforms like eDWIN.
(Speakers: Adam Fojud, WODR; Mateusz Krzyżanek, PSNC) - From Object Detection to Semantic Segmentation – UAS-based thermal image analysis for identifying urban heat points and infrastructure anomalies.
(Speaker: Elena Vollmer, KIT) - Satellite Data Integration with AI – Enhancing Sentinel-2 and Sentinel-3 data using AI for high-quality multispectral imaging.
(Speaker: María Peña Fernández, IFCA)
Live Demonstrations
The webinar includes practical presentations of how real users have developed, trained, and deployed AI models using tools integrated within the AI4EOSC platform, such as MLFlow and federated learning systems.
