The AI4EOSC initiative is proud to endorse the position paper “The EOSC Association calls for a distinct Work Programme-based Partnership for EOSC in FP10 to accelerate excellent, scalable science in Europe adopted by the EOSC Association (EOSC-A) at its most recent General Assembly, held on May 28 and 29, 2026, in Brussels. In this way, AI4EOSC reaffirms its strong commitment to the future of the EOSC and the expansion of the EOSC federation, which requires, among other aspects, establishing a dedicated Work Program within the EU’s 10th Framework Program for Research and Innovation (FP10), enabling the consolidation of the developments carried out by the INFRAEOSC projects.
In addition, the AI4EOSC initiative is also aligned with the strategic vision set out in the updated SRIA, SRIA 2.0, which establishes the following five priorities to strengthen the EOSC in its role as the recognized Common European Data Space for Research and Innovation: (1) operationalization of the EOSC federation; (2) data sovereignty and quality of research data; (3) AI and EOSC; (4) user-centricity and (5) strategic alignment and global collaboration.
AI4EOSC considers the EOSC a key enabler for trustworthy, ethical, and sovereign AI in the EU. Being the place for FAIR and high quality data, the EOSC is the natural environment to foster AI in science, through interoperable and reusable data, models, and services, while also supporting reproducibility in AI and data analysis.
Our collaboration contributes to this area, delivering an easy to use platform for the development and sharing of AI models. In addition, the AI4EOSC ecosystem will be expanded with new capabilities aligned with this strategic area through the new projects under the collaboration umbrella FLUID-AI and EOSC-ARENA. Specifically, progress will be made in generative AI (GenAI) with European sovereignty and ethical safeguards with focus in science (via EOSC-ARENA), and new layers of data and models interoperability will be added to ensure data accessibility and liquidity across the entire life-cycle (FLUID-AI).
